100% Grenache. The result of old plots of vines around Narbonne on a terroir of limestone and sand, with seashell deposits. The grapes were picked at absolute fullest maturity. Traditional fermentation with one or two délestages at the beginning, then just gentle pumping over to extract fruit flavour without too much tannin. The cuvaison lasted 15 days on average. Some natural residual sugar in order to avoid excessive alcohol. Dark, liquorice smell. Sweet fruit in the mouth, medium body and interesting. Not bad for the price. + Alc 14.5%, TA 3.10g/l, pH 3.80, RS 3.4g/l. Available from Wine Direct and 183 branches.
