This Cote d'Or rouge is the wrong side of the D road in Auxey Duresses, and therefore is only entitled to Ordinaire. However the wine is infinitely superior to most of uk supermarket Cotes de what'sits bulk offerings.
It is an odd system this Ordinaire designation in Cote d'Or, anyway I hear that the owners aren't that bothered anyway, as there are tiny quantities - about 100 cases, and no pictures on the web.
Very nice Pinot. On the '03 a bit new world due to excessive ripeness, yet the wine comes in at 12% Vol which means it has a sweetish intro and exit. Lovely fullness of fruit, and equally at home when at cellar temperature. Good and coating mouth feel, and just enough acidity on the '03.
Nice wine and correct Pinot wine, which is made for the owners by a local Auxey man.

If considering a purchase I would take the 2005 vintage which has many years ahead for complexity and lasting structure. Lovely bright colour in the glass, ruby gemstone clear as it should be. Longish quality cork and trad lead foil.
