Dark colour - looks very young. Plain dry claret. Perfectly fine, but nothing to go mad about.

Lurton, La Chapelle 2006 M&S 8.99 - another discounted offer.

Of the 2006 .....No improvement on the 2005, in fact worse. Tastes very Merlot dominated (boring, no right bank style fruit at all) and very one dimensional - the merlot fruit is very dark, an awfull lot of material in suspension, but the taste is a dryish furry Argentinian - Why did Piere Lurton make this NW factory style in Bordeaux ? I could not find the cherry or mocha flavour as claimed in the spiel, and the finish is too soft and has a 'blackboard' chalky end.

Sorry M&S - Not recommended, and not perfectly fine at the price.

People who don't like a half decent bordeaux superior rouge may like it - .....very easy, rather dull.
