From Stellenbosch. Quite a baked smell. Very baked, rubbery and savoury in the mouth. Not beautiful.

Indeed, I dislike those baked rubbery offerings - But that is what the general public seem to prefer - give them Brown Sauce if they want it !
The tasting note is absurd. It is typical of big firm marketing hype. Klien Zalze are a big concern, they say that they have their nose into all sorts of UK high street premises - So what, if their wines are &*#%.
Mel, as you know, I have written-up a tasting note for one of the most elegant and correct wines I've enjoyed from that region, the charming Haute Cabriere Pinot Noir 2005 from Fransch, hoek, grown and made by Achim von Arnim. It may appear that the South Africans reserve some of the best affordable wines for themselves !
I have some more small grower affordable good'uns carried back on the plane, I will let you and GK and Shezza know when I try them and
when they are ready.
