I like 2007 Malborough, so I waited a long time for a friend of mine to deliver the Stonewall.
It is made by Forrest Estate (James Randall) I believe. It is available in the UK from Tony Laithwaite as a pre-budget offer. The wine is 13% Alc, therefore it is never too hot (phenolic) and has a more than reasonable length.
There is more tropical fruit with this one, guava perhaps, melon and ripe garden peas rather than frozen. Yes - I like this wine, but it must be served at between 8-10 degrees C. If served at 15C it is quite strangely dried apricot and strong mango fruit and the texture quite oily. I got my wine themometer out to see what was wrong (it had
not been in the fridge, I was impatient)
It may have been better when younger, because the nose is faint now, and there is hay from more age.
By comparison to the 2008's in the Stores for similar money, this wine deserves a Good. However you must drink this 2007 up by the end of the Summer. I think the wine is quite fragile - serve too cold and the guava / white peach & mango flavour goes AWOL
