VdP de Méditerranée 60% Merlot and 40% Grenache, produced from vineyards located primarily in the Vaucluse and Drome departements, hence the VdP de Méditerranée denomination. Harvested mechanically at yields of 60hl/ha. Maceration for 10-12 days followed by temperature controlled fermentation at 20-25°C for 2-3 weeks. 40% of the Merlot is then matured with oak chips for 40 days prior to the final blend and bottling. Short, dumpy bottle, like a bottle of Baileys. Young, redcurrant/cranberry fruit on the nose. Sweet and fruity, like the red wine gum. Alc 13.5%, TA 3.45g/l, pH 3.43, RS 3.9g/l.
