You buy this wine from Majestic. About £10 and on offer. Quality cork stopper, with proper lead foil.
Gamay - the best Gamay consumed here this year. 2009 is a Gamay year. If you don't like Fleurie - Then for heaven's sake, don't buy this wine. It is text book Fleurie. No furyness here, this is ripe gamay fruit.
Concentrated and weighty - with sappy red and black as well as purple fruits, and I'd say, the ability to age and improve in bottle for up to a five years or so.
Very full, but light on its feet, a refreshingly acidity that is typical of quality Gamay, a very Gamay nose (powerfull, difficult to describe) that opens like a flower. This wine gains sweetness with air, and finishes with length and persistence.
Best next day at the moment - Or triple decant, then swirl in the glass. Or keep for extra pleasure, in future years. Do not bother serving cool, this wine has more flavour at room temperature, with a lovely mildly bitter cherry finish.
Good stuff, very French and a gourmet Beaujolais, and correct.
