Sometimes I see offers in my local supermarket that have not been listed on the website. These are apparently 'local initiatives'. Our mentor Mel has suggested that the forum is the way to exchange info. on these.
Latest sighting is "Rivercrest 2003 Colombard" from Sainsbury's, allegedly reduced from ? 5.99 to ?2.99. In our innocence, we feel that this is an attractively priced alternative to Gallo's Colombard 2003, our usual choice of this type, which Sainsbury's do at ?4.50.
I have the impression that more experienced wine drinkers have a bit of a down on Californian offerings, as being too superficial, but we like German wine too, so there!

Not a reply, but a P.S. Went in yesterday to stock up on the 'Rivercrest' to find price is now ?3.99. I must have caught the tail end of the offer period at the weekend. Did anyone else try it?
