Mel's wine of week for 20th October. So,obediently,bottle got to try. Lovely oaky vanilla on nose and tongue. Fruit just right for good rioja-present but not forward. Long and interesting aftertaste.
Our hesitation was over the acidity which made it delicious with food, but a little startling perhaps if we want to give it to old and young relations, who love creamy oaky rioja.
We found that it calmed down, but only 4 hours after double decanted back into the bottle. 12 hours later (yes, just sipped at breakfast) it was delicious and acidity tamed.
