. The CNdP was very nice this evening. Unusual evo going on with this 3.5 year old.
The wine was in slumber. A third day, and kept in the fridge overnight, has improved overall brightness, and the sweeter Grenache came up nicely to lift and freshen the dark syrah & flat mourvèdre broodyness.
I prefer the riper & sweeter grenache hit of the '09 vintage, but I'm happy enough though, and this is now a proper bargain in my book.
As you say, perhaps another 6-12 months should be long enough to make this wine a bit more predictable on opening. It is going to be a tricky sucker to serve in the interim period.
