Grape varieties: Merlot 70% Cabernet Sauvignon 20% Cabernet Franc 10% Vegetarian. <2 grams/litre residual sugar. 12.50% The grapes are harvested by machine and then sorted to ensure only the best fruit is used. The grapes are then de-stemmed and crushed. The grapes are vinified in stainless steel vats at temperatures of between 25º and 30º C. The juice is pumped over the skins to extract colour and tannins. Oak/lees treatment: Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats to preserve the fruit character of the wine. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 10-12 months on its fine lees This estate which comprises 25 hectares is situated on the left bank of the river Garonne. As far back as the 17th century, barrels were loaded onto barges at the harbour of Portets, where they were then transported down river to be shipped around the world. The mix of alluvial soil and gravel adds complexity and terroir to the wines. The is Bdx Sup. Lovely smell. Minty and inviting. Rustic but stands up well without food. Herby, and with good flavours. 161 stores 07/10/2008 |

I bought a six-case of the '05 Clos Renon around eighteen months ago, it was on offer for £5, Tesco online. I opened the fifth of those bottles last night, this wine is maturing fairly rapidly but still has a couple of years in it. Indeed a lovely nose, it has that dry 'beef-gravy' flavour I look for in a claret, enveloped in juicy berry fruit. Cleansing and very satisfying, wish I had got more now. Never mind, my '04 Château Sénéjac awaits. |

I need to follow you on line - For a fiver - and the 2005 ![]() Dry Beef, yeah - I understand, it's what makes these 05 Bdx Sup so good with grub - Add a liitle Dijon musturd with it, eh ![]() The veg garden and seed sewing urgency, has cutailed my buying habit - no bad thing, I was swooning some 05 Volnay 1er last night. Still the Homeguard 1st earlies will be poking up soon. |

Fed and weeded the lawn and then went away for a week. Braving it with a machete this afternoon. It's practically waist high. Greenhouse is so promising. Rows and rows of little green seedlings. Hundreds of them. Almost didn't book the holiday because I wasn't confident about getting appropriate seed care while away, but it all went well. A very positive time of year. |

Mice have now eaten over a dozen of my young broad bean plants on the allotment. I say eaten but they don't eat the tops, they simply dig up the bean-seed and leave the rest, My mini greenhouse is also full of life at the moment, leeks, broccoli, cabbage and just this morning my runner beans went in. My potatoes are now through on the plot, so are my onions, kale and turnips. My over-winter broad beans have been in flower for a couple of weeks now, beautiful black & white flowers. Its all go ![]() Oh, and Wolves are now in the Prem... happy days! |

You have a tough last game of the season against Reading, although I think they have accepted they are in the play-offs now. Good luck! super, super mick....... etc. etc..... |
