Hardy's is a rubbish label...right up there with Blossom Hill. But this is nice...bone dry lemon with a touch of biscuit. 3 years bottle age I guess has given it that slight biscuity quality. When do the Aussies bottle their wines, Mel ? Gives Montana's sparkler a run for it's money. Goosegogs ~ this is an offer price, usually £7.99~ |

What on earth do you mean, when do they bottle their wines? In champagne there's a requirement to bottle age for a minimum period. Not sure that applies down south. Actually, was in Germany last week at a sparkling wine producer and they disgorge to order. They keep it on the lees until they've run out of wine and then disgorge a bit more, etc. As Louis Roederer, but cheaper. m |

Am I being thick ? ![]() I just assumed that all Australian wine changed vintage at the same time. For eg all Marlborough sauv changes vintage in September so is presumably bottled in August. I just wondered whether the wine in question had had 3 years bottle age by now or less. |

No, there's no set time, unless you mean do they have to leave it on the lees for a set amount of time like champagne. I imagine it's a massive batch, which will be disgorged, not to order exactly, but in line with a great big spreadsheet. |
